Teresa Barger, Chair, EMPEA Institute
Teresa Barger has spent 21 years investing in emerging markets companies at the International Finance Corporation. She was Director of Corporate Governance for the World Bank and IFC from 2004 to 2007, and Director of Private Equity and Investment Funds from 2000 to 2004. Before that she held a variety of positions within IFC, covering nearly all regions of the world. Before IFC, she worked at McKinsey & Company in New York, London and Tokyo.
Ms. Barger is the co-founder and Vice Chairman of the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association. She serves on the Board of the Victory Family of Mutual Funds and Anera and on the Program Committee of the Pacific Pension institute. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She is a graduate of Harvard College and Yale University, and did graduate work in the American University in Cairo.
